PRODUCTION

To create this centenary edition, a series of vineyards were selected where a number of unique factors occur in conjunction, allowing us to obtain the highest quality grapes. The production methods were chosen specifically to achieve the maximum potency and expressio n of the personality of the tempranillo grape. At least 13 months in medium toast French oak barrels. Time spent in bottle: At least 6 months in bottle before release.

TASTING

Of great intensity and clarity with hints of red forest fruits like redcurrants and blackberries standing out over a background of delicate spiced notes from French oak, such as menthol, black pepper and cinnamon. A delicate and subtle finish with a light mineral touch. Deep, garnet red. Silky and enveloping, with fine, sweet tannins that make it clear that this is a wine that is well-structured yet refined. A refreshing finish due to its well-tuned acidity with hints of coffee candies.

FOOD PAIRING

ideal wine for serving with chargrilled poultry, pork or red meat, helping to bring out its flavour and achieve a harmonious pairing. Its balanced acidity and enveloping sensation on the palate also allow us to enjoy this wine with fish dishes like cod baked in the oven or in a "pil-pil" sauce, and oily fish such as salmon, tuna, fresh mackerel, Shark, swordfish or tuna.

Viña Mayor Verdejo

VARIETIES

Verdejo and Sauvignon Blanc

PRODUCTION

Selected Verdejo and Sauvignon Blanc grapes produced in the Caserío de Dueñas estate, owned by the winery. The harvest is carried out when the temperatures are at their lowest, that is to say, at night when the grapes are at their optimum moment of ripeness. Gentle pressing. Low temperature fermentation. The wine was left in tank on its fine lees for 2 months before bottling.

TASTING

Clean and bright, pale yellow with delicate green highlights. It is very intense and fine on the nose, clean, direct, with a fresh, fruity character. Green notes of boxwood are blended with citrus aromas of lime, and mineral notes, such as phosphorus. On the palate it is flavourful and refreshing, showing a touch of salinity blended with aromas of grapefruit, fennel and other aromatic herbs. Easy to drink, with an elegant and pleasant finish.

FOOD PAIRING

As an aperitif or to accompany a main meal. Perfect with fish and seafood, white meats, pasta and fresh salads.

VARIETIES

PRODUCTION

Hand harvested. Grapes transported to the winery in 300kg picking bins. fermentation carried out in stainless steel tanks, with temperature control and cold maceration.

TASTING

Deep ruby red with bluish highlights Fresh and juicy, light on the palate but with a full-flavoured finish. Notes of red and black fruits intertwined with light notes of toast from its time spent in oak barrels

FOOD PAIRING

An everyday wine. Ideal for barbecues and tapas. A good accompaniment for lamb and other roast meats, pasta dishes, risottos, lentils, pulses and semi-mature cheeses. It is also the perfect wine for aperitifs or to be enjoyed on its own.

PRODUCTION

Grapes selected from vines of more than 60 years of age, planted at more than 900 metres altitude. Favouring slow ripening and conserving acidity in the grapes, essential factors for its subsequent ageing in barrels. Hand harvested. Double selection table, destalked and lightly crushed. Temperature-controlled fermentation. Prolonged maceration of 25 -30 days.

TASTING

Deep ruby red. Elegant hints of leather, tobacco and mocha. Well-structured as well as being rounded, silky and complex with a long, delicious finish. Grapes selected from vines of more than 60 years of age, planted at more than 900 metres altitude. Favouring slow ripening and conserving acidity in the grapes, essential factors for its subsequent ageing in barrels. Tertiary aromas, resulting from bottle ageing (leather and tobacco), combined with ripe black fruits, sweet spices and gentle notes of toast.

A complex, mature wine that is perfect for pairing with red meats, large game stews, Castilian-style roasts and all kinds of mature cheeses. Ideal with pulse, meat-based rice dishes, and mushrooms.
