Viña Cartin Albariño 2020
The oceanic climate of the Rías Baixas (west coast of Galicia), perfect for the Albariño grape variety, allows an ideal maturation of the grapes and a careful balance between acidity and sweetness.
Also known as Alvariño, Alvarin blanc, Azal blanc, Cainho blanc, Galego and Galeguinho, this unique grape produces very good quality wines. It is very early in budding and ripening and it is very sensitive to spring chills and excessive thermal amplitudes.
With a pretty bright pale yellow color, this wine reveals a fruity, floral and mineral nose. The aromas of fresh fruit are dominant and are reminiscent of peach, orange peel and grapefruit, even apricot, as well as a delicate touch of violet. The palate is fresh and quickly gains in fat and suppleness in the middle of the tasting. The finish retains this fullness, well balanced by beautiful bitter notes and a slight minerality which contrasts with the fruity character of the wine.
Aperitif, scallops with orange butter, fried fish, prawns with green curry, white fish in sauce.
